Localized Flooding Reporting in Midst of El Nino

The Sunday reflected off the raindrops – just briefly – before the downpour began again in the 3rd in a series of storms to hit the North Bay. Meanwhile, The Russian River is looking very swollen right now, and emergency responders are on high alert.

In a span of about twelve hrs. the Russian River rose between five and six ft.: cresting to twelve ft. in Guerneville, 7.5 ft. in Healdsburg and nine ft. in Cloverdale, according to America Geological Survey gauges. Flooding was reported on numerous Santa Rosa streets yesterday. Sonoma County road crews had officially closed Green Valley Road west of Sullivan Road, Mark West Station at Starr Road and Valley Ford at Bloomfield Road.
